Sara Lee Implements Sales Training with "The Apprentice"

As part of their national sales meeting, Sara Lee Foods engaged Audience Response Solutions to provided an "Apprentice" sales training game. The goal was to allow the sales force to learn how to develop prospects whose business will be most profitable, to select the appropriate strategy for each account, to conduct effective face-to-face sales calls, and to continue to uncover sales opportunities within the account that are productive and profitable.



The teams were give four simple rules:

  • You have five minutes to prepare
  • You can use anything you can find as a sales aid
  • You have five minutes to Pitch
  • And in the words of the "Donald"... Just WIN, Baby!




  • Teams made their sales pitch to the judges and then the audience and judges used their audience response keypads to vote on a variety of criteria to select the winner.

    By sharpening their analytical and strategic selling skills the Sara Lee sales force learned to provide their customers with compelling reasons to choose their solution.
